Our goal during development was clear: to increase the available air volume while maintaining smooth, laminar airflow. Achieving both required a complete redesign of the series turbo inlet, where we carefully balanced higher capacity with optimised flow characteristics.
After extensive development and testing we increased the internal volume of the turbo tube from 1 300 cm³ to 2 200 cm³ — that is by almost 70 %. A large part of this increase comes from the lower part of the tube at the critical bend leading directly into the turbocharger. The series (OEM) part is particularly restrictive in this area, while our redesigned geometry creates a significantly larger air reservoir immediately before the turbocharger. This air volume allows the turbocharger to draw from a less restrictive source, which reduces wastegate load and ensures a noticeably sharper throttle response.
This diagram shows the overlay of the Eventuri turbo tube with the scanned data of the original (OEM) tube inside. The OEM tube is shown in brass colour, while the Eventuri tube is made transparent. Here you can clearly see the areas where we increased the volume and improved the flow path.
The main tube is made of prepreg carbon, which provides exceptional stiffness and eliminates any possibility of deformation under the vacuum created by the turbocharger. It smoothly continues into a custom nitrile elbow, which connects to a precisely CNC-machined aluminium flange that bolts directly onto the turbo.
The system was designed with future modifications in mind and is equipped with a modular CNC-machined flange. This allows compatibility with larger hybrid turbochargers by simply replacing this flange (alternative variants can be purchased separately).
COMPARISON WITH THE ORIGINAL INTAKE TUBE
In a direct side-by-side comparison of both tubes, the most significant increase in volume is evident at the elbow leading to the turbocharger. The original (OEM) tube is highly restrictive in this area, which leads to a choking effect, particularly at higher boost pressures.
In contrast, our tube has been significantly enlarged in this area and at the same time we optimised the bend radius for smoother airflow to the turbo. The result is a twofold increase in the amount of available compressed air, which improves throttle response. In addition, thanks to lower resistance, maximum boost pressure can be reached earlier.
As can be seen, the increase in volume from 1 300 cm³ to 2 200 cm³ represents an almost 70% increase.
CONNECTING NITRILE ELBOW
The carbon tube connects to our custom-designed hose made of nitrile and reinforced with ribs that withstand vacuum forces. This allows easier installation, where the elbow can be installed before the carbon tube itself. The hose provides a smooth internal surface with internal transitions (steps) that ensure a smooth transition between the carbon and the machined turbo flange.
